We spend 2 days in San Teodoro; this is a very popular holiday resort, in north east sardinia, south of Olbia, and close to Costa Smeralda. We spent the time relaxing, we fixed the front tire, that was easy, only 3 euro on the local garage, try that with a Cessna!
Gianni has some really nice neighbours, he is an ex military pilot, now flying airlines, he has wonderful kids and a very funny and pretty wife, very special people, very social, and we enjoyed each other company.
Here a night picture of Olbia from Gianni's house
The following day we get bad news: one of Gianni relatives died, so he has to go to Cagliari for the funeral. what better way to go there than flying? not everybody has a personal airplane :-)
weather is PERFECT, so we choose to fly along the east coast until Tortoli then heading southwest into the inland, destination Siliqua airfield, the place where Betty Boop was conceived and built, the place where long time ago i was given wings, and where the man who gave me wings lives and works
the flight is wonderful, as expected, and lasts around 1 hour 40 minutes. we see the beautiful east sardinian coast, with the many beaches and cliffs.
here some snapshots... so difficult to choose...you can see on our faces that the weather is much better:-)
and here Betty Boop where she was conceived and built...
so the trip as described here is over. Betty Boop will undergo some improvements (brakes on the left pedals, a roll trim) and a few fixes for small teething problems, but she has behaved wonderfully, performed greatly, and afforded us a safe journey through some stormy air and sea.
but it is not over yet. we will do some local travelling, then we will go back to our airfield south of Lago Maggiore, but that will be in the next days, and pages.
today is thursday, tomorrow my girlfriend arrive, we will go to the beach, see friends and relatives, and sunday we will fly to Tortoli, where i will meet some old friends, and where we will be taken to a boat trip on the coast we overflew in the last flight.
